The strong realization of the need to infuse stories which does not have any elements of so called formula themes that acted as the backbone of Bollywood for several years coupled with the coming of young daring film makers armed with entirely different ways storytelling methods paved the way for the drastic changes that today has enabled the Hindi film industry to be seen as a creative hub that has space for every kind of film maker.
So far so good, but to keep up this new found energy in experimenting and coming up with authentic scripts that can take the works of B-Town to a more higher pedestal, the emerging writers having great potential should be given enough guidance and enriched.
To serve this purpose a two day conference on screen writing starting on December 13 has been organised in Mumbai.
The leading players in the fields of writing, direction and production of the Tinsel Town will come together to give insights about the art of scriptwriting in this two day symposium.
Not only the creative part of scriptwriting but the topics of professional rights, credit protection, royalties, remuneration etc are also expected to be discussed.
500 creators consisting of novice aspiring writers and experienced professionals are expected to take part in the conference.
Ashutosh Gowariker, Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Anurag Basu, Javed Akhtar and Kamal Hassan are some of the film personalities who will be disseminating their knowledge acquired over years of film making.
The eminent film maker Prakash Jha says "script is the most important aspect of film making and yet so very little is known about it in our industry. With this conference we hope to create a better understanding about the art and craft of screenplay writing, which will hopefully contribute to a better future for Indian screenwriters."
