India's dreams to win the coveted Oscar awards were shattered with Taare Zammen Par pushed out of the Oscar race. The Aamir Khan-directed TZP was India's official entry to the Oscars this year. A total of nine films were selected by the Oscar Awards Committee for the Best Foreign Language Film category and TZP did not feature in the list.
The nine films that will be competing for the award are: Austria's Revanche Gotz, Canada's The Necessities of Life, France's The Class, Germany's The Baader Meinhof Complex, Israel's Waltz with Bashir, Japan's Departures, Mexico's Tear This Heart Out, Sweden's Everlasting Moments, and Turkey's Three Monkeys.
