There’s a palpable excitement in the examining room. Today’s student is a celebrity of international proportions and our board of examiners is thrilled. All of them have turned out in their smartest examination-wear and the Professor of poses and postures has brought along a map of Mangalore to show how close his family’s home is to the student’s and how they’re basically related and she can just call him uncle.
But nepotism is strongly frowned upon and the Professor is asked to can it and let the evaluation begin.Ah! It's nice to see that student looks well after her much talked about stomach flu. As the board shifts about their ergonomically designed chairs uncomfortably, wondering what to say next, the accessories teacher meekly comments on the gold embroidery on student's saree. Maybe a duller or more antique gold would've been less... er... less...
Less gaudy? someone suggests helpfully. And that red and white combination, although a classic, is adding to the flashiness of the whole thing. Board decides to be thankful that student is on her feet again and move on to the next entry.
