The Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram has made an announcement that he would recommend a tax exemption for any cash prize, if attached with the Oscar award. This announcement came in soon after A.R. Rahman went to win two Oscars. The tax cut, when it comes into force, will be for all the Indian Oscar winners.
